With the 8twt, I would recommend Berger 170gr. They shoot very well in my gun. If you haven't been cleaning the new barrel regularly...

I shoot 145 ELD-X (not seconds) and they are extremely accurate. Maybe the factory seconds you got are dimensionally inconsistent?

I use blue loc-tite and have never had one move in use, and I have never had one gall or corrode in the threads.
