I think the hair being thick and usually dirty also plays a big part of it.

I’d say the elk would be tougher. But hard to say they all died within 20-30 yards of shot.

My buddy got his back in one week. Yep 1. If that doesn’t **** you off. I did a few the same week and here I am trying to forget about them. He’s playing with his.

Maybe, my buddy just got his approved and in hand in one week? If I did t see it and know when he did it I would have never believed him. How is it even possible?

    Hammer bullets gel test.

Would be cool. Looks like both would do the job. But as we know gel only tells part the story. Cover it in hide hair and bone. Definitely not scientific but we know not every shot is gonna do the same anyway. Still cool to see.

    Hammer bullets gel test.

Well I started with Barnes when I was making the jump in my smaller calibers. Was not to crazy about them. They work as you expect and mushroom. But the cutting edge was a nice jump up in performance from the Barnes. I didn't think it got better till I tried the hammers. They seemed to do more...

    Hammer bullets gel test.

Not sure if this has been posted on here before. I may have missed it but either way I liked watching it. Shows how different bullets act. And hats off to the hammer guys for giving propers to the other bullet. Seems like more than one way to skin a cat applies here also...

Factory Bullet Recommendations for 6.5 Creedmoor

Keep in mind that’s my rifle. I have a short barrel on mine. And am able to drive the hammer well north of 3100fps with a fast powder. Now use a 26” barrel and some slower rl26 you will extend the speed and range of that big heavy for sure. Unless you listen to some that think it’s impossible...

Factory Bullet Recommendations for 6.5 Creedmoor

No I got slightly less. 30 yards less with the hammers than the eld. I used whatever they stayed for min. Mine was so close it didn’t matter if the bc was better was all. I start the hammers so much faster so they are much flatter at most distances. I still have some Hornady as backup. But I can...

Factory Bullet Recommendations for 6.5 Creedmoor

Factory Bullet Recommendations for 6.5 Creedmoor

Mme did not Berger but Hornady 147eld. I pushed those just as hard as my hammers. They did add about 30 yards to my max distance based on fps. Energy I never worry about to much because that all depends on pass through. I got full pass through right behind the shoulder on two elk this year at...

Stick with my 6.5 Creedmoor or…….

That’s exactly what I did. But a few years back I swapped up from my .300 win mag to a 30 Sherman. And both rifles are built as ultra lights identical. Except obviously short and long actions.
