Long range all around western rifle

Lots to consider in this thread for the OP. Having lived and hunted in Colorado almost all my life, I can tell you quite a bit about harvesting game, elk in particular. I have been a member here a very long time but seldom post. I enjoy reading and learning when I am not on the range...

How do I figure out the value of a rifle?

Custom anything is hard to recoup costs. Build cars and guitars and you will find the same thing. Unless your stick is from a very well known maker and contains desirable parts no longer made, it is hard to be made whole. Here is what I would do. Find a Cabelas or gunshop that is deep and...

Best long range hunting scope max budget $3K

Minox makes a nice scope in the ZP5. What are you after in terms of reticle and weight? Tough to beat Swaro when it comes to weight. I have been impressed with the Burris XTR ii series, enough so that I just ordered a Burris XTR 3 in 3.3-18 x 50 with SCR 2 reticle. Substantially cheaper...

6.5 long action hunting rifle opinions

"that's good info. Your 6.5-284 velocity is nearly 100 fps higher than my nosler book shows for the hottest load at that bullet weight, and with a shorter barrel. So that's why I ask. lots of variables between rifles, and you don't know exactly what you'll get until you take it to the range the...

    Opinions on long range spotter

Best spotter for the money period can be had from Valdada-IOR optics. They have new german made spotters half the price of those you mentioned and they are better optically. You haven't heard of them yet because they just got them. They have a collapsing 15-45 x 80mm that will knock your eyes...

Leica Televid 62 vs 72, opinions and questions

The best portable and compact spotter can be had from Valdada IOR optics. Their new german made spotters are half the price of Swar,Z, Leica, and are actually better optically than all of them except perhaps the HD series, of which Valdada IOR has also. The compact collapsing spotter is a...

    IOR 2-12x32 35mm -VS-Nightforce 2-10x24 35mm or a similiar scope

I would go with the IOR all the way. The MP-8 dot reticule is far and away the best offered in terms of precision and size. IOR should have an excellent field of view and the compact size is nice...not sure what the price is but my 3x18x42 just set me back $1300... Slink

Best scope mount system for SAKO 75

I have talley mounts on several model 75 sako's. Great mounts, but the best I have found for the price are the 2 piece picatinny mounts made by IOR/Valdada...you can reach Val of IOR at 1-303-979-4578 and he has them in stock. They slide on the tapered dovetail like the talley and then have a...
