I did some work for the state shooting deer. The thing that was apparent was deer are tough. Although some variables do apply but the shot that takes out the nervous system will be DRT. A Local Smith Doug Stueptfert Brushy Creek Gunsmith built it for me. Remington action, 1-9 Mcgowen barrel. Had the action and barrel trued. Put a shrewd break on it. 4X20X50 Burris Veracity Scope I can see the impacts.

Ok I just purchased a new Rem 700 ADL 7MM Mag. I bought it for the action mainly. So I have a Long Action with a Mag Bolt. I am looking for a gun to hunt Elk and Deer (never hunted Elk). So any recomendations on caliber. Or do I tru the action and Barrel and put on a new stock and call it good?

Is there a big difference between the HS and PST other than lighted reticle?

I misspoke my current scope is a VariX III not a VX III. I don't know if that makes a difference.
