25 saum, 25 prc, 25x284 and others - released for public use

The animal and bullet wont care what sent it there just how fast its going when it gets there. I plan my hunts for Velocity. All bullets are designed to perform from 1800-3200 some will go above that but I don't use them mostly because they are solids and suck for accuracy and have a bad BC (for...

25 saum, 25 prc, 25x284 and others - released for public use

Ive never had good luck with 7828 for temp stability. It makes incredible speed but I never knew what it was going to do. I take consistency over velocity all day. The laser will tell me what to say to the computer and after that its a done deal. High Velocity IMO is an old way to go about...

Exactly ABLR will expand at 1500 but that's too slow to get great secondary wound channel

    Bullet suggestions for elk

I've shot animals with all kinds of bullets. As a rule thumb I typically will target heart lungs with the RDF, ELDm, Bergers and other non bonded bullet target style bullet. The bonded style bullets can be used on a high shoulder shot and will maintain weight going through bone. The bonded...

    Bullet suggestions for elk

For the 30s I like the 200 and 212 ELDx and the 210 Nos ABLR you can get both of the those bullets going close to 2700 safely with H 4831. On a side note energy isn't the best metric for how your bullet will kill especially when we segment out medium and high velocity wounds. Keep your Velocity...

    6MM Creedmoor

I have 25k LRP for starters and I've noticed that large magnum primers light powder better in the cold weather.

Lightweight optics for backpack style hunts.

I just picked up a Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50 f1. Huge field of view, illuminated XT (tree Reticle), Nightforce glass and it's Nightforce durability. Puts my rifle at under 10 lbs with bipod. After getting a 100 yard zero and a velocity on the 6.5 PRC. Dialed what my phone app said and center...

Lightweight optics for backpack style hunts.

I totally understand the desire for light weight. Why carry it up there if it is fragile, not rugged, reliable and repeatable. Save weight some where else. The scope is your interface with your target, Rifle and computer solution.
