Yes, the .204 is a chuck rifle!

Nice shooting there! Yes it is a nice chuck rifle... out to about 375 yards for me.. I have a Browning A-bolt in 204 that shoots the 40 grain V-max with H-4895 into a tight little knot. I got this guy @ 140 yards.. think he has a migraine???lol

    243 AI vs 6mm on 6.5x55 case?

I shoot a Remmy 788 in a BR stock with a 28.5" 10 twist tube that shoots the 70 grain Sierra Blitzkings @ ~ 3850. It turns crows into gray smoke @300 yards.. I have killed groundhogs @ 515 & 880 yards with this rig... can't say enough good about it. I wuld build another one in a heartbeat! I...

    243, 75gr VS 87gr Vmax?

I've had great success with Sierra 70 grain Blitzkings & Hornady 75 V-maxes in my 243 & 243AI. Have tried the 87 grain v-maxes & they sorta penciled thru groundhogs @500 plus (may have been a thicker jacket lot) ended up with 50/50 draggers. Not so with the 70's&75's. I used the 70 grain...

    243 AI 75gr vmax loads

I usually use AA 2700 for my 10 twist 243AI shooting the 70 grain blitzkings & Hornady 75 grain V-maxes, but I have used H-414, & W 760 all with a Magnum primer to lite it off... This day the 243AI got me into the 500 yard club.

    Vmax or VLD?

I like the V-maxes.. Don't discount the 75 grain Vmax.. I shoot it out of my 243AI 10 twist & make hits & kills out to 800 yards with it.. The 87's are good.. the vlds are accurate, but I don't know about the terminal ballistics @ extended ranges. Enjoy your choice. I'm a groundhog hunter &...

    220 Swift AI

I made a very lucky witnessed 1 shot 1 kill at 880 yards on a feathered varmint sitting on a fencepost with my 243Ackley Improved. I had about 2.5 feet of windage as well. My drop chart for elevation is definitely on the money with that gun.

    220 Swift AI

Please be careful when using the match bullets on critters... be aware of your backstop... I use varmint bullets on critters because they are designed to expand and terminate the critters. Match bullets have superb accuracy but often do not expand well on critters... Match bullets will...

    220 Swift AI

With some field testing and an "accurate" ballistic chart you shoould be able to make hits out to 500 and beyond. Terminal performance is another thing... depends on the type of bullet, remaining energy and the type of critter. What are your targets?

The best of the 6mm's for Long Range

My long range rifle is a 243 Ackley Improved. It sports a 28" 10 twist barrel and it has zero freebore. I shoot the 70 grain Sierra Blitzking @3850 for groundhogs.. I have a witnessed 1 shot kill @880 yards and several in the 4-600 yard range.. For my style of hunting this does it for me at...

    220 Swift AI

What do you mean slow runners? not loading them up to speed? It's all good..... Load it how you feel most comfortable....I have found there are like 3 tuning nodes for accuracy...one on the low end one in the middle and one on the high end... Start low & work up groups will open up & close up...

    22-250 75 Grain A-Max

Generally speaking Im able to up the standard 243 powder load about 8%. I m getting around 3800~3850fps with sierra 70 grain blitzkings out of a 28" tube. That's a flat shooting laser beam. The BC of the bullet is .299 see the ballistics...go to biggameinfo.com and run a chart... 3800fps...

    220 Swift AI

Lots of people AI'ed the swift to help eliminate the brass stretching. Added velocity is good in my book as well...as long as it's accurate.. LOL I like to kill'em fast as possible...& with authority...hehehehe.

    22-250 75 Grain A-Max

I had my 8 twist standard 22-250 27"shilen barrel throated to shoot the 75 grain A-maxes. It shoots very accurately... with H-414, W760 & killer groups with AA 2700 with a Fed 210 primer. I built it for long range ground hoggin'.... I wanted to buck the wind etc.. blahhh.. I got to where I...
