    It is not a good choice for long-range hunting. If you would not shoot it with a scoped-30-30, then you would not want to shoot it with 300 AAC BLACKOUT. We are doing optimized bullets though - something in between the two in the video is the goal.

    What velocity did you want? 300 AAC BLACKOUT is 110 grain at 2450 fps from a 16 inch barrel at 55,000 psi, or 123 grain at 2315 fps.

    400 degree solder is 400 degrees F. It cannot hurt an action. I would not be too excited about using 1200 degree F silver braze on a custom action. I ordered some and will try it out.

    Nesika actions have 6 8-40 screws and two dowel pins. Rem actions have 4 screws - either 6-48 or 8-40 (M24 and a few others). Does blueing or phosphate have to be sanded off? I suppose so - I sand before I solder copper pipes.

    barrel torque

    True - it is in the book, but he was wrong on that. One should probably disregard that chapter. He said that low torque is bad for accuracy and that does not appear to hold up. He only tested it on one .270 rifle. Here is some reading...
