I would rather have a .44 Mag. A .410 is not a self defense round (against bad guys or angry animals.) A .44 Mag loaded with CCI shotshells is also more effective against snakes.

Sharp Shooter Supply won't answer my emails asking the same question. Hi Tech Tactical has a kit with the factory Savage parts you need to do the swap except a new stock, and they answered my emails within hours.

Anyone know where I can get Savage detachable mag parts (a magazine frame, a front action screw and a bottom cap) to switch from a short action centerfeed blind mag to a DBM? SSS won't return emails. Do I just need to call Savage? I was hoping to get them cheaper through someone else.
