    Scope recommendations for Prairie Dogs

And if you have a suppressor, take it. Maybe not the best choice if you are a high volume AR shooter. Dogs stay up much more without the muzzle blast. Pups don’t seem to have a clue. You can talk to your buddies when shooting and spotting.

    Scope recommendations for Prairie Dogs

When you quickly upgrade the rifle after getting hooked, you already have a decent scope.

    Scope recommendations for Prairie Dogs

Arken EP5 is pretty good, especially for the money. I have had my zero stop slip during a Rifles Only class and had to quickly rezero. I had a backup but wanted to test it out. The eye box on mine, with my eyes, is pretty tight. My eye has to be just right on any higher useful zoom.

    Scope recommendations for Prairie Dogs

I just got back from my first PD trip. VinceMule gave me some pretty good advice and pointers. I had an Athlon Chronus on one rifle that I was wringing out, backup rifle had an old Vortex PST Gen 1 in 6x24. I figured the old scope would be ok. Shooting in bright daylight. Not so much. Found out...

    Suppressor help

I would take the rifle and suppressor to one of the good gunsmiths noted above for a hands on professional opinion. We can all sit here and look at pics and guess. It is extremely hard to do a complete diagnosis from pictures. Roll the dice and shoot it as is? If we/you are wrong, see below...

    Hanging Steel Targets

On the fire hose, I use nuts, or washers, or a spacer to make a space between the steel target and the hanger hose. When the target is hanging, it hangs at a tilt, directing most of the bullet splash to the ground reducing wear on the hose.

    Hanging Steel Targets

Best cheap option in my area has been old firehose, if you can find a source for free hose. Holds up to bullet hits and splatter well. Hadn’t thought about baler belts. Have to make a couple of calls now lol.

    Sherman Wildcats sold?

@SWC DerekW and DI Precision are good folks with a great reputation. Friendly and honest. Very precision oriented with great equipment holding tight tolerances. The Sherman addition should be a great combination. I live about 2 hours away from them. Met them at the Precision Rifle Expo...

    Should I go 20 practical?

Just got back from a PD hunt. Partner used a 20 Practical. I’m impressed after watching him and shooting his. He was making hits to 650 yards, some in a stiff breeze. And the barrel never got hot. Warm yes, but not as hot as my 223. How many have worn out a 20P barrel? 20P barrel life and...

Question: Reamer Dimensions vs Chamber Dimensions vs Case Dimensions

I’ve been emailing with Porter. Considering driving over and sitting down with him before buying a set of his mandrel dies. His shop isn’t very far from me.

Question: Reamer Dimensions vs Chamber Dimensions vs Case Dimensions

@VinceMule So I have stumbled down this path in recent days. Lee collet neck sizer and a set of gauge pins. How are you controlling your bullet grip in infinite control? Lee sizer is one size, you get what you get, unless you go back in with a mandrel? Your experience may save me some steps.

Question: Reamer Dimensions vs Chamber Dimensions vs Case Dimensions

Porter uses gauge pins with a taper ground on one end.
