Going to Alaska in august for my first dall sheep hunt. My Rem Mod 7 in 7 saum with Talley lightweight rings and Vortex Razor LHT w/ 3 rounds came in at 8.3#. Just sent it to smith to be bedded into a McMillan stock, flute bolt and install a brake.

The Razor they are speaking of is NOT the heavy weights that you are thinking of. The Vortex Razor HD LH (think “Light Hunter”). It weighs 16.5oz. Lighter/as light than most of the scopes being mentioned here.

Shot a doe with me 300 Saum with the Hornady PH 178gr eldx. Broadside and maybe 40 yards. Buddy with me put her down after she got maybe 30 yards. No blood trail of any kind in between the two spots.
