Title says it all, they're like new. I bought them a few months back mounted one optic but didn't use it and was going to pick up a Swaro Z3 to mount in them on another rifle but went with a different optic instead.

Selling a Bergara M5 pattern LA bottom metal assembly with mag box and Wyatt's spring/follower. This drops in M5 LA inlets and the mag box is extended length to allow up to 3.85" OAL. Everything is in great shape, I just swapped over to a Hawkins M5 setup which fit the same inlet perfectly...

That sounds janky AF and that magazine is definitely not going to run reliably long term. Instead of half assing it just get a 224 Valkyrie or 22ARC barrel that has a shorter case to run those bullets at mag length and do it right.
I like a 20" barrel for suppressor use as that's where I find most cartridges aren't neutered too much and you don't end up with a crap load of loose carbon in the can from shooting that falls down in the barrel as soon as you point it up but is still pretty handy with a 5-7" can. Up to 22" is...
I never had great results with any of the Weatherby chamberings including the 300, I think due to cartridge design and the ridiculously long throats. 300RUM on the other hand I shot a lot of for a long time with great results.
Assuming you had both cartridges shooting equally well with the same...
Not a chance. I burnt out a half dozen or better 300RUM barrels shooting 110's and I was pushing it hard to get 4200 with those, even with a 30" 15 twist. 4200 with 124gr coppers isn't going to happen unless you go way over max pressure and even then I doubt it.
4000 from a good 26-28" barrel...
Literally anything will work, even the varmint bullets if you choose your shots. Personally I’d just get a couple boxes of core lokt and call it a day.
It will be fine, and no you’re not going to push the bullet fast enough in a 270 to get separation, that’s fuddlore. You have to be well over 300,000 RPM for a bullet to come apart and even then it really only affects the bullets with the absolute thinnest jackets.
At further distances than...
