I am not real familiar with this caliber and was wondering if this is a long or short action round. I have come across one for sale and it is in a wood stock. I was thinking about changing it to a synthetic stock if I buy it. So I was going to see what I would have in a new stock. It's a...
I have 2 of the 4x16, one x50 and one x44. Also a PST 6x24x50. I had a VX3 4x14x44 before I ever bought my first Vortex. Still have the VX but will stay with the Vortex brand. Great warranty to boot.
Depends on how much you want to pay and what you consider east. Illinois has some real nice deer. It's one of the premiere deer hunting states. Illinois out of state buck tag will cost you over $450. Ohio has similar deer and a tag will run around $150. Kentucky is putting out some good ones in...
I think he did have a rear bag. But if he was shooting from the dame position he was sighting from I am a little impressed. Butt of rifle against bicep? 90 degree body position? Not real good form for a 900 yard shot.
I bought a Remington 243 for my daughter several years ago. She killed deer with it just fine with the 100 gr Cor Lokt. I started reloading all the brass she had left with 100 gr Sierra Game Kings. They kill very well. I have taken deer with them out to 240 yards no problem. Nice exits with good...
There is a thread with some very good reading that covers a lot of what you are looking for. I think it was.. Comparing the Berger 210 and 215. by Broz.
I am computer ignorant or I would post a link to it. Maybe someone else will post it. Someday I will get one of my children to teach me. I am...
Do you reload ? Either one will do both. I have the 308 it's real nice. So I would go with the 6.5 for something new. Of course it is a Savage so for $300 on a barrel you can have both. Buy the Least expensive and put the extra towards the other barrel.
I don't have a Hornady book to look up your combo. But with the lack of reloading supplies right now I would be happy to have found a good combo that will not trash my brass after a couple relaodings. I would also dare say that if you seated your bullets deeper into the case you will start...
The rifles you are coin flipping over are all good choices. If you have a chance too shoot any of them it will help you decide. The differences in the Savages models between the 10 and 11 LRH are basically the stocks and the 111 is a long action. Meaning that the calibers are for the longer...
I use a fired case. deprime it then thread the primer pocket with a tap. I believe it is a 5/16 x 36 thread. this will then thread on my Hornady OAL gauge.
