Will PTG make a bolt with the right bolt face diameter?

I'm looking for a gunsmith to build me a 7mm Dakota next year. Ordered a barrel from Krieger and was given a finish date in July of 2014, so plenty of time... I am wanting to use the Badger Ordnance 2013 Action, Krieger #10 contour finished @ 28", and probably an AICS or McMillan A5 stock...

I think the Dakota is almost perfect...Except for that rim diameter forcing the need to open up the bolt face.

Has anyone tried cutting the RUM family of cartridges brass down to around 2.500" and keeping the shoulder at the current 30 degrees and then necking it to 7mm with a neck length of .330"? Should be about the same as the 7mm Dakota and 7mm STW.

I didnt mention: The 300 Ultra goes with a RCBS neck sizer set, 1 box of 208 gr. A-max's, and an unknown count of new Rem brass primed with Fed 215GM primers. The 7mm RM goes with a RCBS full length resizer and neck sizer set and 1 box of Berger 180gr. VLD's. The 7mm STW goes with a RCBS...

They are new. The gunsmithing was done by Champlin Arms. The 7mm RM and the 300 RUM are both scim bedded. The 300 RUM also has a Timney trigger. All 3 weigh around 14 lbs. as is. They were put together right.

Thanks guys. Thanks dirtball for running the numbers. I'm hoping for 3000-3100fps range for 175-180 grainers, if stability holds up. I was going for 3150-3300fps for the A-Max. I believe those to be resonable numbers for the rifle. Wanting accuracy from this rifle not just velocity...

I have a 7mm STW with a 1 in 10" twist. The barrel is a Kreiger 30" HV contour, 4 groove. Will the 180gr Berger VLD stabilize with this? Originally just wanted to shoot the 162gr A-Max but I am wondering about the heavier Berger now.
