I have two Proof pre-fits, 22-250 and 300 PRC. The 300 shoots Hornady 212 factory less than 3/4” and the 22-250 is one ragged hole on reloaded 55 and 68 gr bullets. I am not a competitive shooter, mostly hunting and steel to 700 yds so extreme accuracy isn’t my goal. But how doesn’t like a good...

When we set trot lines in the flats or river edge, we use fresh cut pine tree sapling tops. 1” at the small end and 6-8’ long depending on water depth. Jam them in the mud a foot or more and they will bend and never break.

We are going to SD to shoot next week. But won’t be on the biggest town in that area. Talked to the outfitter today. Landowner poisoned it. Apparently they aren’t considered builders by everyone.

Well another 4” since 3:30 today. Lots of local flooding here in town. The river gauges show a small rise is forecast. Praying the flooding is over.

Well, forecast for 4-6 inches more rain today. And the river is still rising. This may become a record high water flood event. Hope not!

That is certainly an option……but stuck between which rifles/loads to use. 22-250 and 68 gr varmint or 6 CM and 87 V-Max!!! I do have a 28N and 300 PRC if they get too big/bad!!!

Been hunting and fishing on this river all my life. I know where there are several gator holes. The only problem is the gators are totally uncooperative for relocation!!! LOL

I have a bucket of flag lines, but no boat here to put them out. I am not going to wade in that flood water, unless I am swimming for my life!!!

Thanks. That feeder is about 175 yds from my shooting “shed” and has a hog light on a huge white oak tree to the right. Spend lots of evenings there having an adult beverage or two while waiting on a hog to come to the feeder or the big white oak acorns. Ready for the water to go away so I...

We have had almost 30” of rain in the last 20 or so days. Needless to say it is wet here. Pics from my place in the river bottom. The feeder is on 10’ sticks of conduit. So my rifle range is closed until further notice!!!
