Clicking out to 500m .. options?

Cody, do I simply count clicks out to the diff ranges 200,300 from the base 100 zero and submit to Leupold? So if it's 7 clicks to 200... another 5 to 300 etc?

Clicking out to 500m .. options?

phew .. at least I now know that most of you are not super human and use range finders at even closer ranges. I have not lost an animal yet but came pretty close with a longish shot on a blesbuck in Africa, where I shot him a little behind having not accounted for wind. Range was given by the...

Clicking out to 500m .. options?

point taken... but even with a range finder i still need to equate that to hold over in the scope and a CDS system would probably be better for me than holding on the smaller crosshairs/dots?

Clicking out to 500m .. options?

Hi all, been lurking to long again, but did pop in here at times for some good reads from the experienced mob.. Long story short... Finding that with both my Leupold's with LR duplex and Varmint reticles, i'm not as accurate aiming from the lower crosshairs/dots as i'm from the main crosshair...

    338WM: Berger VLD 250g EH

Tony, for some unexplained reason, Sierra is sold at premium prices here in oz. .. and Hornady is very reasonable ... most popular for volume shooting

    338WM: Berger VLD 250g EH

Capt, will have to use the ossie powders, AR2209 is popular with the 338 crowd down here. My understanding is that felt recoil is more acceptable in the heavier 250g pills. The same recoil distributed over a longer time frame giving it a push rather than a snap? BGreen, with the ogive/meplat...

    338WM: Berger VLD 250g EH

Thanks guys, your making a darn good case for both those projectiles. Seating depth box ticked, penetration of the Berger is acceptable but I'm finding myself leaning towards the AB now...if it penetrates that well, short and mid range shots make it a viable all-rounder.. just darn expensive...

    338WM: Berger VLD 250g EH

Was considering the 250 AB, but the Berger at lower velocity was the thinking at first, but you got my attention. Something I did not consider is magazine lenght with the Berger... will it fit in a Ruger 77 standard lenght action? Darn.. could be too long. The AB is definitely a close 2nd...

    338WM: Berger VLD 250g EH

Thanks VH, just my lack of knowledge showing, they all sure look very low drag! That is Possibly why no one else replied to my thread. Some amazing shooting there, hope to hear from your experience

    338WM: Berger VLD 250g EH

Hi all, been through the "Berger kills" thread which is mighty impressive. Would the 250g VLD qualify as an all purpose hunting projectile in my rig? It's the accuracy proclaimed that's a big draw card for me. I'm convinced that the 338WM really shines at mid range hunting distances up to...
