    Powder Storage

In all embarrassment I stored mine in milk crates in an open garage, untouched for ~7 years. I now store them in my temp controlled workshop (still in the came milk crates). Loaded up some 5.56 with 16 year old Accurate 2230(?), H4895 and BL-C powder over new CCI primers. All components...

can't miss 7 rem mag load?

Maybe 7 Mags are finicky but my old (1980's) 700 ADL and Leopold VIX2 - 3.5x12, shot well with Nosler and Sierra 140-175 gr bullets over H870, IMR4895(?) and several other older powders when I was reloading during the early '90s. No trimming, FL RCBS sizer dies. Used to shoot the ex-wife's old...

Looking for thoughts on a pistol for hunting

What caliber is your XP-100? Secondly, how do you carry that beast around? Is there a holster maker, do you sling it? I really enjoy my 7mm BR and would love to use it in the field, but it is so d@#&n heavy and unwieldy. Your wisdom is requested.

    Tikka .338 Win mag Struggles

Yeah, recoil is a not so silent group killer. Still fighting the flinch from my original 7Mag after 18 years!

Thanks for the warm welcome. It is my hope to learn the Dark Art of LR Shooting. I'll have to look into that XP-100 lead.

    XP-100 going rate

How disappointing...... I was already building that new rifle in my head.

    XP-100 going rate

I have an XP-100 in 7mm BR, sold to me by a Remington employee back in the early 90's. The SN puts the manufacture date in the mid-'80s. It has a Weaver base, 2.5X Redfield scope, extra lead ballast epoxied inside the issue Zytel mid-grip stock, 100 rounds of factory 140 gr sp ammo, 40 brass...

    Building First Hunting Rifle

At hunting ranges 100-300 yards or long range 300-1000 yards? I understand that 6.5 is the winner when considering recoil but how superior is the 6.5 ballistic performance from muzzle to 300 yards (local hunting range restriction due to terrain)?

    XP-100 going rate

Out of curiosity, what constitutes ordinary?

    Really...how good IS the 6.5mm?

/Quote/ False, the 6.5 has been a round for a vary long time and is no fad. /Quote/ I agree, but what concerns me is which 6.5mm will stand the test of time? Back in the '80s when the 7mm BR was all the rage I bought an XP-100, but the caliber has since gone extinct, much to my disappointment...
