    Weapons In Pictures

If a picture does not have a gun, I put up another picture.

Shot selection, how do you know?

You were certainly correct. Experience is the key.

    Age this guy.

Spindly legs, slim body, thin neck, even like a young doe with antlers. 2 1/2 max. Good job growing that head gear, though.

Cutting foam in new rifle case

Ohyeah! Even less at yard sales.$1 - 5. They're everywhere. I got one just for foam and trashy stuff.

    The black grey squirrel

We have been calling the monkey squirrels "fox" but they are really different. They were rare at the club land but have exploded in numbers the past couple years. Really tame and inquisitive, coming up close to hunters. No one ever shoots one. Thanks for the info.

    Which Hunting Knife

Randall Airman is what is usually on my belt, so a Model 15 is what is used pretty much.

Some threads tick me off !

Your deer are the same place that my trail camera bears go. They're around all year until bear season comes in.

Deer Lease questions for a newb

Prices do vary! In Eastern NC, we have 12 people on 2,000 acres of mixed crop, woods and swampy land, with a year round house for $2K. Deer, turkey, duck, small game, fishing, all per state law. Some antler-age restriction. No kids, wives, and very limited guests in season.

    45 ACP on Brown Bear.????

Works well on human bears! 45ACP is my favorite recreational and defensive caliber. 10mm hot loads in a 1911 for hunting, but not much for bear.

How many 30 calibers do I really need?

That doesn't sound like fun, and guns are fun! Always just one more, unless you're giving one to me. Then you will need at least two more. Sorry, but you can always hear the opposite from your wife!

Time for a boot upgrade, need some help

Kennetreks here, Mountain Ex and Guide, and Safari, as do many club members. It seems two were wearing them and more found out. Contagious. Before that Galibier Verncours, which were used by some rock climbers but I haven't seen available in decades.

Pulled pork from a wild hog... your experience?

Oriental markets have star anise in huge bags. I use it for tea and beef pho. This is NC, not NY or CA, so it should be available.

    .204 Ruger or .223 Remington ???

I have a .204 and lots of .223/5.56s. Different applications. The .204 cannot substitute for a .223 The .204 is really fast and flat! Seldom gets used, however. It will give you a view of the exploding rabbits. No recoil from either.

.223 Remington semiauto rifles that don't look like ARs

My six year old thinks it's great but underpowered.

.223 Remington semiauto rifles that don't look like ARs

California? You may have a problem, but go with what you can get.
