The Partition is a great bullet. Use it in my Tikka 7mm-8. Barnes TTSX would be another good round for a good kill and minimal wasted meat

I recently acquired a 10 power mildot reticle scope from my dad. What would this scope be geared toward? Hunting? Target?

What reticle would you prefer for elk hunting?

I probably wouldn't have to shoot much over 400 yards where I hunt. I didn't know if the reticle would cover up too much of the view field at long distances. Seems like they are popular in low light Scenarios.

I found a Leopold 4.5x14x50 scope for sale I was very interested in. I would be using it for elk hunting. The only concern was that it has a heavy duplex reticle. Not sure that would be my first choice for a long range shot. Any thoughts from your experiences?
