To all @ LRH thanks for having me for the past few years.
Thanks to all for the help given and just the ability to bounce ideas off yall. Thanks a lot. It means a lot.
I am sure by now most are thinking I am walking away from the forum and wondering why after what...
The worst thing I forgot to date was the rope to hold the tent poles in place. It would be the tent in my avatar. It just so happened that one of the guys that were on the hunt had brought a lot of rope and we had some ratchet straps. So after laughing at my own mistake we had the tent up and...
If you get rounds that span a grain or more that group in the same spot but the ones after and before do not. You know there is a good nod there.
Thats how I do it. After I find a spot where a span of charges that shoot the same. I then load up about three of each of them, then test it.
It...
T I will put this out there quick I to only shoot one of each charge to get a feel for speed and pressure and where the best nod is. No need to shoot groups to see what powder charges work well. Then when I see a nod where even with a .5 grain span they still group good then I load some up on...
I too, can not say a thing bad about Leica. Had a product go bad that I was not the first owner and I had no paperwork they replaced it free of charge. Can't get any better than that.
That's why I like behind the shoulder shots. The only bone is ribs. other than that ita all flesh meat and vitals. Less chance of an all no what I have I done kind of thing.
Slower powder that creates more FPS does not have to do it by more pressure. To many time people see the speed and say you did it with higher pressure then the last powder even though the slower pressure shows less pressure or no pressure signs compared to the slower burning powder.
If you...
I am going to try it in a .243 win with 95 Berger VLDs. Should work great from the load data I have seen. The data says 3200 in a 24" barrel. We shall see what I get. Will be shooting it out of a 22" barrel. Should get 3150 but time will tell.
Thanks! Yes it is. Its a older one about 10 years old. It works good as long as you prepare for wind. Where I hunt it can get windy and this tent as it comes does not like wind.
