I just wish I could buy some shells for my 22-250! lol! 9mm and .223 are fine just no range for 'yotes or longer shots on the open plains where I hunt.
22-250, but I guess it may be short lived if the ammo ppl won't sell me shells! I am to dang old to set up for reloading 22-250, so may have to figure something for my 300 win. mag. ???
Many hunters have trouble with magnums. That said I use one and what helps me is to have a "Hair" trigger and concentrate on the crosshairs and lightly squeeze BAAAMM! No flinch as I was surprised by the blast.
My choice would be a 300 Win. Mag. ,best optics I could afford, a light rather than on the heavy end rifle as with Elk one has to travel on foot in the Badlands -most likely! 180 grain or better cartridge.
I have been looking for Sierra 180 grain bullets but got some 190 gr Bergers . I am wondering if they will perform in a Mossberg Patriot magazine length? Powder charge ? Any help appreciated!
A Weatherby is a thing of great beauty ! That said I heard a PH state he thought the barrels where a little "light". Perhaps that is why the military does not use? After a few rounds drifting shots? Too hot? What do you guys think?
