Recoil is not a problem. Being able to hold the sight picture sure helps. Being able to see the hit and the reaction at long range is a big plus.

I use fed. Gold mag match primers in all my big rifles. Got lucky and found a few before the shortage.

I have a mcmillan gamewarden stock on my stw. the palm swell is very large to me. i prefer a smaller one like the one on my 25 06 ackley it's a richards micro fit thumbhole stock.

I put a McMillan game warden on my rem. bartlin barrel STW. palm swell is a little to thick for me. I heard that greybo was nice and has a smaller price tag . the 8.5 twist loves the 160 and 175 sierra gk deer no so much....

Has anyone tested the IMR 7977 in a 7STW. I have the load data from hodgen's websight, seems a bit tame. I mostly shoot sierra 140 and 160 for deer and hogs. My barrel is a walker with 9 1/2 twist so I shoot The Smaller bullets. Any load data will be helpful.

I've loaded some of the bertram brass several times without any issues. I backed the 160 GK down a bit to fit in with the velocity 1000 Night Force, 72 grains of H 4831. The brass is holding up good, accuracy is not bad either.

I FL and use the collet die as needed. I using nosler brass and the primer pockets enlarge before i wear the case out.
