E-BIKES - the way to hunt in the west

Litehiker, Obviously you have already done quit a bit of research, my concern is with the packout. Everything you pack out is going to have to be on your back I would assume. Having all that weight up high on a skinny tired bike on a mountain trail seems like a big wreck in the making...

    idaho unit 39 early season.

Sorry about the late reply, just saw the thread. Any luck so far in this heat? I don't have much help for you other that I spent several days in the Idaho City to Lowman area and found only a few does and fawns. Hope you find one for your friend, MT

Our Youth 2022 - No Idea on the History of the United States.

I'm only 59 so haven't been around as long as some of you grumpy old farts but holy crap guys you whine worse than a bunch of old crows! Don't you remember your grampa complaining about that evil box they called a television. Or that wild kid they called Elvis. Or maybe for some of you that...

Pass through or Expended in Target?

I prefer a pass through because I think it increases the chances of a better blood trail. DRT is great but it doesn't always work with big strong animals. Also there has been quite a bit of research done on bullets that break up inside the animal. The amount of really small particles of lead...

    Caliber choise for Wolves

BrentM, first, thanks for doing a lot of good work to help out the deer and elk herds! Second, I'd like to get up in the big and steep and help you out but in reality I'm old and not very effective in the big and steep any more. Do you think there any wolves south of 84? Thanks and Merry Xmas, MT

What to use for varnish on euro mount?

I don't put anything on the antlers, but use mop and glow floor wax on the skull. It keeps the bone a nice natural ivory color and seals up all the little pores in the bone. I have not heard of using varnish. MT

long stalk on a killer groundhog.

Eastbank, Good hunting! I'm from west coast so I've never seen a woodchuck before. What a cool looking critter and you took a great picture. Was that a pretty big one? 200 grn. bullet at 1600fps. now that is sporting. MT

That's a good feeling. Cold Bore Shot.

Huntnful, Did you get to hunt this weekend? I hunted northern B and found very little deer activity, Don't think that big old full moon is doing us any favors right now. MT. Great shooting BTW!
