so I have looked at the Havak element but the 22" barrel turned me away. I think there will be to much velocity loss.

What made you decide between the VX5 and VX6? I’m currently looking at those choices, there is a price difference but the VX6 isn’t really out of my range just on the high end. Is it worth making the jump?

How do you like the glass?

I plan on using integral rings instead of a base. I looked up the charts, and I wont need a 20 MOA rail to get out to 1200 which is as far as I would ever target shoot. I doubt I will ever get to shoot that far.

How did you like the VX-5? I have also tossed around the NF SHV 4-16, but I am not really a fan of the weight increase.

Just curious have you had any experience with the cartridge on Elk? I’ve looked and read every story I can on it just looking for more input.

I’m actually from WV, only recently moved to SC. I don’t have any concerns with a 6.5 for this area, and that is one of the attractions is it won’t be over bore her, but it won’t be to under bore for elk.
