Gotta be patient with your measuring or the trial and error method. Don't settle for close if you suspect there's a better option. Consider money spent returning parts that don't work well spent. I've compromised before and regretted it.

Are you just widening the trigger guard slot that the trigger comes down through? I'm having a bolt release sticking issue...

This has turned into the typical 6.5 CR why not/hell no thread... How about a 300 Savage? Or a 257 Roberts? Unless you like an eclectic approach to cartridge selection for such a classic rifle...it's all about what grinds your gears, enjoy!

I have the same rifle as you bought. I like it very much. I intend to find what factory ammo shoots the best in it for targets and also for hunting deer. After that I'll buy some dies and try some of the bullets these gentlemen are suggesting, the Berger, Nosler and some others. Good luck and enjoy!

I really like this idea, I've been thinking about using captured nuts sunk into the bottom of my bench to allow vise and press mounting, but this covers the bases I was thinking about for a price I'm willing to pay.
