No issues with the optic, just don't have a gun to put it on and don't have the need to acquire another rifle. Figured it'd be better served with someone who would use it vs sitting in my safe.

There's also a free range just outide of Las Cruces NM on the way to Demming. Really nice range, not a whole lot of traffic when I went thru there and you can easily drive to the target location. Really miss that state!

What kind of velocity are you getting out of the 18" barrel? Seems like a waste for the 338 Lapua Mag in that short a barrel length but I could be blantantly wrong.

What kind of $ are you willing to spend? Nightforce makes quality optics, and the SHV line looks promising, no experience with them, but maybe some who do can chime in.

I second the 700 5R. My 5R .300 WM is a tack driver - solid .4-.5 MOA rifle if I do my part. Definitely replace the crap X-mark trigger with an aftermarket option of your choice and happy hunting.

Great looking rifle - if I had the range space I'd definitely consider. It'd be like getting a Great Dane and living in a 400 sq ft apartment for me though.
