Well, they're clearly not afraid of going all the way to satisfy a customer. I don't see anyone else doing all that... major manufacturer or custom. Most of the gun is new. Very aggravating the time and money spent getting there though.
I'd be thinking more about getting your chest cracked...
The way they make 'em now, you can buy a big pack and compresses down to day-hunt size. IMO, they work just fine and are practical. A fancy pack doesn't make you a fancy hunter and people have been hunting for thousands of years and doing just fine with whatever they had. I've had everything...
Sounds like your on the right track. My most accurate load is
IMR 4350
Fed 210 or 210M
Berger 168 Hybrid
My hunting load is a Rocky Mountain 165 gr and more or less the rest is the same.
I wonder if they hold off on selling brakes cause most dudes would just screw one one whatever gun they have without checking clearances before shooting it.
That's what I'm using. Works very well. Expands out to carry a big load for a backpacking-in type situation. Compresses down for a good daypack. Is a comfortable hunter and goes mostly unnoticed while hunting. Load shelf is fine but IMO, not ideal for carrying a Buick out on. That's...
I agree that the best part of a mil scope it's ranging ability but IMO, ranging from a reticle in the hunting field is pretty useless past mid range and even then, fairly inaccurate. It's however very useful for tactical use. I prefer mils because the numbers are smaller and the reticle is...
Interesting question considering probably 90+% of those shots will be taken at 225 yards and in. I'd wager you already have the perfect gun that can double for 225 to 500, for the semi-rare incidental opportunity.
Big gun for a big animals, medium gun for mediums and so on.
Thanks for the phonetic spelling of that word. So the plastic bag you cook it in... are those special bags and are they vacuum sealed? How does that thing keep from tipping over in the pot? Is it a stand-alone heating unit that does not require a stove top burner? How do you know when it's done?
Shot a buck at about 60 yards. 30-06 / 166 gr. SH. Pass through and impressive blood trail in the snow. Ran 80 yards. Tracking was embarrassingly easy. Good internal damage but not much meat damage. Safe to say they won't blow up on you.
