I think the older G7 offer firing solutions only in MOA, not MIL? I am asking because my scopes are MIL scopes. I have heard the these range finders are great (this is the Gunwwerks G7 Br 2 correct?).

Like many have said, whitetail is not particularly hard to kill. I use 178 eld-x for my savage 308. Pretty accurate in my gun. A friend of mine loved the 150 and 165 grain nosler Ballistic Tips, so I bought some boxes of those (still have them but probably won't use them), but I switched over...
