Power Adjustment Problem on Sightron SIII

I have a new one that has never been mounted and the power adjustment is hard to turn. I think it is because of the tight rubber seal. I have been working it back and forth and it has loosened it up a lot. GC

    first focal plane and second

FFP scopes some reticles get so small @ lower power that they can be lost in the background. Also the reticle gets larger on higher magnification and can cover a small target making it harder for a precise shots. This is the very reason why many prefer thinner finer reticles on a SFP scopes...

    first focal plane and second

FFP scope the reticle and picture gets larger on higher magnification and they get smaller on lower power. Not the best setup for very accurate shots. Great for sniper tactical shooting matches where you do a lot of ranging, magnification changes and holdovers. They are faster and require a few...

    Bushnell 6500 Tactical

Why only on 6x. The real test is on a scope highest magnification setting. Many scopes are clear on their lower settings. GC

    Bad Glass in Sightron?

That's why you should use a quality set of rings and torque them to the proper specs. Which is usually 15 in/lbs to 20 in/lbs. You have to really watch about over tightening vertical split rings. They can put a hurt-un on a scope tube. GC

Leupold VX-III LRT or Sightron SIII

The New Sightron SIII is a nicer scope. It has nicer target turrets - with audible sharp clicks, nicer glass and better deal. You would pay much more for MilDot reticle on a Leupold. GC

    Bad Glass in Sightron?

Well Duhhh! I bet the glass will look the same in the dark also. Sightron SIII has top notch glass and their Big Sky SII is very close. They have their occasional bad ones just like any of the others: NF Optics, US Optics, Leupold, S&B, Swarovski, Zeiss, IOR....ect all have them. GC

    Bad Glass in Sightron?

The new Model SIII I have looked through in the bright day light had glass that was very clear and bright. GC

    Bad Glass in Sightron?

Is it the new model with 100 moa windage and elevation adj.? I just purchased a new in box older model SIII 6-24x50 with 50 moa adj that has glass that is sub par for what you expect from Sightron. It is not as clear as my Big Sky SII. I sent it back under warranty and ask for it to be...

New optics for REM 700 SPS Tactical in 308

I replaced to stock on mine with a HS Precision vertical grip stock and sold the Hogue stock. I also sold the X Mark trigger and replaced it with a Rifle Basix trigger adj to 1 lb. I haven't had a chance to shoot it. The Sightron SII 6.5-20x50 is a very nice size for this rifle, not too large...

New optics for REM 700 SPS Tactical in 308

I have a Sightron SII 6.5-20X50 MD mounted on a 700 Tactical. It has a nice wide field of view. The glass clarity is very close to the SIII. It's hard to tell a difference. There is plenty of eye relief even on 20X. It has 60 moa total adj which is very workable with a 20 moa base. It was able...
