Yes, the weather can be iffy. We usually went late August, early September with snow at times. You were west of the Dalton. Yes, the planes are weather dependent, as is a lot of the travel up there. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Great tundra bear. 13 days is a long time to be on the tundra. Give us some details on the camping or where you stayed!! I have been up that way, caribou hunted along the Dalton and have been all the way to Deadhorse. Saw a few grizzlys and even saw a polar bear on the last trip!!
Wow, that is great. How long to draw? As a resident you certainly have an advantage over non residents. I've been applying in Wyoming for 22 years, probably will never draw or get too old to go, bah humbug!!
Good luck on your hunt. Season in August or later?
Great trip! That's a great black bear. The fish and shrimp must have been awesome. I know fresh halibut is my absolute favorite.
Me and my nephew made a similar trip a few years ago. We hired a "transporter" boat, a 50 footer, and we left out of Whittier also. It was two weeks later than...
A friend was turkey hunting yesterday and calling with a decoy out in front. A coyote came in fast and hit the decoy, chasing a real turkey away that was 100 yards out. He was bow hunting so didn't get a shot. The coyote didn't stay very long!!
Nice job on the female coyote, Ohlongarm!
I have an old Moultrie, probably 6 years old and still going strong. AA batteries. I just bought a Tactacam Reveal SK, which is my first cellular camera. It has a solar panel that is keeping the battery at 100%. Have had it out 2 months now. I used it close to the house the first month, and...
Well I sure hope you don't have to move from your current house before your new one is done. Not fun to be under pressure to move out before you're ready. Good luck on the new build
Great report on your "adventure"! Sometimes those things can drive you crazy. I have the same gun new in box, and haven't ever fired it because I am currently engrossed with the 300 win mag. I didn't know this Savage was that accurate, although it seems they have a good reputation. Thanks
Fantastic bull. Thanks for sharing. When you have him mounted, have the antlers removable. A lot easier to handle. Mine is only 66", but non guided. Congratulations again
