hmm i dunno double up on hearing protection maybe? plugs and ear muffs? a proper brake shouldn't have the percussion coming back at the shooter. i mean i run a 20" 300wsm with a side port brake and have never noticed any percussion but the guy sitting beside me sure does lmao
what break have you tried on it? a 6.5 creed should only have around 12lbs of felt recoil with a 138gr bullet. id imagine throwing a terminator brake on it should cut its way down to around .556 recoil or lower
most short mags will work well with short barrels.
but he already stated that he has brass for those 2 cartridges. Id personally go with a 7SS if i were to do another build
the 40 degree shoulder is a plus. longer neck, and little bit shorter case to seat heavier bullets out a bit more. Also Saum brass is tricky to come by but rich always seems to have head stamped ss brass in stock. and I do believe you may get a little better barrel life. plus not alot of people...
this is what id do if you reload..
short action 6.5saum or 6.5ss then down the road 7saum, 7ss or 300wsm
all these cartridges will work wonders with 20" tubes and its easier to find brass than 6.5prc short stubby cartridges are the way lol
It consistently shoots groups touching. I guess I shoulda stated that no one should go off of 1 group and make sure it does multiple groups before moving on just figured that was common knowledge.
The feeding issues were only when they were first released. I’ve been shooting a 300wsm for over 10 years. 4 different 300wsm and have never had a single feeding issue. And definitely do my fair share of shooting every year.
I don't own a 7saum but have been strictly shooting a 300wsm for over 10 years and imagine they would like the same powders.
H100V, H4831, should work really good with the heavier bullets and
H4350 should work with the 150's good
when I'm sheep hunting I have one in the chamber from the moment I leave my truck to when I get back that also includes while I'm sleeping in the tent... obviously muzzle pointed downwards. never have packed bear spray
