I love the 270 wsm .... I have handloaded for three different rifles in 270 WSM'S... Mag Pro powder has proven to out perform all other powders..(for me) Very accurate round... low ES an SD's. As far as the Vanguard don't have alot of experience, but I like the action and the triggers felt...

My buddie has the 111 in 6.5x284 it is accurate.... But after the shot his bolt is hard to lift, this is with factory ammo and mild handloads.. I asked him to call savage and the response from savage was it's like a tight ***** how can that be bad??? I was getting ready to pounce on one in 7mm...

15 years ago some of the farmers would offer up a brick of 22lr ammo. Bonanza is a good place to look. Fort Rock area has open feilds but will limit you to rimfire only. we have one place in bonanza that also has rock chucks....keeping that one a secrete though:) DD

It's getting harder to get access some people are charging per gun but you can find a spot here and there. We used to have sole access to some propertys and it was cool but now its a zoo.. when you find one don't let it go.. I usually takes knocking on doors and some luck..:D

I think the Tikka will fit the bill just fine. My sons 270 wsm in a tikka has been the easiest gun I have ever worked up a load for, it likes em' all. :) Although savage or a marlin xl7 are good but Tikka's just shoot real well..

The long range in White city is open only certain days. mostly for comp. shoots. being from Roseburg you can shoot a mile up at tokatee air strip, but that is a fair amount of a drive drive. and you need your own table..Grants Pass has a good range to 600? Its a pay as you go or membersship...

It's really up to you wich you like the the best...I run the 60 csx but whould love the 62 version .... you can't loose with any of them the 60 -62 series will get signal indoors wich helps in thick west coast timber...
