Both are viable options however if you chose a 1 piece base be sure to bed it. 1 piece bases can stress a receiver if either they or the receiver is machined out of alignment.
Or try this. Forget barrel break-in, I'm a fan of shooting more and cleaning less. I shoot my barrels until the accuracy falls off then I go and clean them.
Get the Sightron. It is the best bang for the buck when it comes to SPF mil/moa scopes. I've had this scope and it is well made and has excellent glass.
Both reticles are excellent. But which will work best for you depends on the application. Personally I think the XR is an excellent reticle for shooting beyond 800 yards. But I think it is overkill if you don't break about 800 yards often. The Gen II Mil-Dot is less busy and works well but...
Actually I know of what I speak. I don't go around spouting misinformation, in fact that is pet peeve of mine. And yes they DO. You said it yourself they have purchase their glass for Schott, a German Company that produces the finest glass one can buy. Yes Schott has manufacturing facilities...
I load for a DPMS 308 and use standard load data. If the gas system on a AR is configured correctly then there is no reason standard data can't be use. This is where an adjustable gas system comes in. It is not something that is a must but is sure is nice when getting thing tuned correctly...
If it works for you use it. But this still overly complicates the issue. Thinking is clicks is counterproductive
BINGO! This is what I was saying. Small numbers and simple math make for the best field calculations.
Now that we are thinking in terms of MOA or Mils (you pick which one you...
A little of both. I'm always looking to try new bullets and powder. But I make sure that to keep a good supply of my rifles current accuracy load on hand. If I happen to try something new that I/my rifle likes better then I burn up my current stock and ammunition and load up a batch of the...
Both S&B and Zeiss are excellent. I got to do a side-by-side comparison with a Hensoldt when I bought my Premier. There is minimal difference. And both US Optics and Premier use German glass in their products. Thus the OP is fine either way.
I'll make another suggestion to you. Stop thinking in terms of clicks and start thinking in terms of MOA. There is a reason your turrets have whole number values on them. Then your next step is to realize that MOA is an angular unit of measure and not a linear one. Thus assigning linear...
I have a Premier 5-25x56. It is a great scope with optics that are second to none. I recommend these scopes to anyone who needs great glass. Also the customer service Premier offers is amazing. However these scopes do have a downside. They are heavy. If weight is a consideration I might...
