    Long Range Elk Gun

I have a 280ai from Ridge Rifles in Casper, WY. It is tied for the most accurate rifles I've ever shot or owned. They Build a fantastic rifle this one is based on an accurised Remington 700 action. Here is a picture of a group shot with this 280ai.

    Reloading for 300 norma improved

I've recently ordered a 300norma ai, and I'm looking for advice on what powder to use for pushing 210 to 240gr bullets. I've never built an ackleyized cartridge so I'm unsure on where to start with powder charge.

300 norma or 338 edge custom rifle build

My rifle has been ordered a 300 norma improved 40d shoulder, stilled tac 338, manners adj. stock. Hopefully it all works out with the brass. I know there have been some issues with decking down to .284 but and having the sticky brass, but I don't expect that to be an issue. I will post more...

300 norma or 338 edge custom rifle build

The 300 norma imp. Really has my attention running 230gr pills. I've been researching it and there seems to be some controversy over going to the 40 degree shoulder, some are saying only go to 35 max. Any experience with this gentlemen, looking for solid data as to whether or not there are any...

300 norma or 338 edge custom rifle build

I'm having difficulty deciding between the 300 norma or the 338 edge for my next longrange rifle. With this comes the question of which action to use. I have been having trouble finding information on the 300 norma. I have only read one article on the round and it peaked my interest. Any...

Have 30-06 should i get a 7mm rem mag as well

I am a 7 mag fan I got rid of my 06 several years ago. I have taken elk from just over 550 to as close as about 25 yards they are all equally as dead but if a long shot comes up I would rather have the horse pressure in my hands than not.

    2014 elk hunt please help

Look at western colorado in the Glenwood springs area. I lived there since 2007 and had good luck elk hunting. My friends and I usually buy otc bull tags and leftover cow tags if we can get them. Craig Colorado boasts being the elk hunting capital of the USA, food for thought. There was a...

    6.5-284 rechamber 6.5-7wsm?

I wouldn't be concerned with it if the rifle shot consistently under a moa but with 3 different powders and 2 different bullets about 1 1\4 is the best. I know where your coming from though my 7mm likes a .070 jump in vlds and my old 7mm likes them set to the lands.

    6.5-284 rechamber 6.5-7wsm?

I have given both of those some thought, but I'm concerned with how much would need to be cut out of the chamber end of my barrel. I'm hoping to salvage the barrel I already have.

    6.5-284 rechamber 6.5-7wsm?

Thanks for your input, sounds like the right idea. It doesn't bother me to single feed but not being able to touch my lands seems to me I could be missing out on my optimum seating depth for bergers

    6.5-284 rechamber 6.5-7wsm?

I have a 6.5-284 on a remington 700 short action that the humanity botched I can't even get my slugs close to the lands. I'm thinking either having the chamber end of the barrel cut down and trying again or doing that and clambering it in the 6.5-7mm wsm. Any thoughts and advice for my predicament.
