I listened to a podcast from Weatherby about this cartridge. It was originally tried in 1959, but was not successful due to lack of suitable powders.

I would like to hunt with it, but I don’t know how that will work out here in Texas. A friend has offered to let me hunt on his land. We’ll see.

Because I would love to see it. I bought an old custom 1917 Enfield in 300 Wby. It has the original barrel, rechambered. I bought it planning to put on a new barrel in the same chambering, but I have a 30" long 1in8 Krieger in 6.5mm that wants something to do. It sounds like a bad *** cartridge.
