i shot a p dog at 60 yards with the 338 lapua with a 300 grain bullet going 2750 fps and there was nothing left of that dog but little peaces laying around. peaces went at least 20ft into the air. it was the energy from the bullet that did it not high vel.

if you have built your own rifles before there is no reason why you cant built a long range rifle. all of them are built the same way except maybe a bigger o.d barrel and a bigger cal. long range rifle's hunting rifle's sniper rifle's all get the same quality being built if its my neighbor joe...

mine is 6-1/2 inches long 4-inches 0.d and 2-inches i.d made out of 6061.

i do turn the o.d of the action down about 10 thousands if im going to put it in a action sleeve. i turn it down and leave lines on it so the jb weld has a place to go then pull it into the sleeve. heres a picture of a action sleeve.

the o.d of the action has nothing to do with anything. when you blue print one.

that is a barrel that im about to crown, thats a bore rod i use to ture up my barrels before i chamber them and crown them. my tools for action blue printing are just like yours.

if you didn't live so far away i would say stop by and i would show you how it is done. the mandrel comes with bushings that are 0.702 0.7021/2 0.703 0.7031/2 0.704 0.7041/2 0.705 0.705 you use the bushing that fits tight in the back of the action and one in the front of the action then you take...

i have done alot of 700 actions and the 0.705 reamer has worked on all of them. i have heard that some people have got some actions that the 0.705 would not clean up but i have not seen one yet. gre-tan will make a reamer bigger if thats what you want. im not sure but i think i payed $650.00 for...

i was wondering how did you dial your action in to blue print it with out the race way cutter to put your gages on. i also use the gre-tan tooling
