My favorite gray beard, GunBlue, has an interesting episode on his channel discussing the .222 Remington. He goes through its history and discusses its relevance today. In it he states the the Triple Deuce is still the most accurate 300 yards and under cartridge today. Is it?

BTW, that puppy has a 25” barrel ... exactly. That’s pretty long. Is that typical for a Ruger #1?

I would think that Ruger’s #1 with its Farquharson-style internal hammer falling-block action would be as accurate as a bolt action.

There are 2 twist rates that Ruger used for their Triple Deuce #1: 1:14 and 1:9. I’m not sure which I have.

It’ll be for my wife who loves precision shooting. It’s the perfect round for that purpose, she’s not fond of recoil.

Gentlemen, I have been beaten into submission! I surrender! I accept the Tikka (and of course SAKO) as superior to Ruger in every form, fashion, and function. Had Ruger been given a 1,000 years, they could not have done half so well. Let us all hail in unison our unquestioned loyalty to TIKKA!!!
