    The 270 and Reloading

I have to agree. I've been a .270 fan ever since 20 years of age. Never owned one though, but still hope to some day. Reading the article I wondered when reloading info would come up, it never really did.

    25-06 vs 6.5 creedmore

It is true that the 6.5 has High BC bullets but I've never had a complaint about groundhog hunting with the .25-06. It has taken game at any practical range I've hunted. If it were only BC that mattered then why choose a 6.5 when there are other calibers that have bullets with better bc's...

    25-06 vs 6.5 creedmore

I've owned and shot a .25-06 for 30+ years. For hunting it's a great cartridge, groundhogs to Elk. Bullets 75 to 90 gr for varmint, 100 gr for larger such as deer and 120 gr for the largest animals. Mine has a wood stock but I prefer synthetic as they aren't susceptible to humidity.

What budget not so long range scope?

Hard to beat Leopold. I have an old M8 24x from the 70's that still works great, a vx1 3x9 on a hunting rifle and 2 vx2 scopes on varmint rifles, a 4x12 and 4x18. I also own 2 Weaver T scopes, a 24x and a 36x. These have held up very well too. But I like Leopold's guarantee.

best bullet for coyotes in 25-06

I've owned a .25-06 for 30+ years now. Used mine for varmint hunting mostly but it has gone deer hunting with me and even bear hunting. My favorite bullet for varmints is the 87 gr Sierra. Everything I ever shot with it was a one shot kill. I've found it rarely leaves an exit hole on...

What's your caliber of choice, for coyotes?

For 30+ years I've used a Remington 700 VS in .25-06. It has worked great for groundhogs using the 87 gr bullets. The rifle is now on its second barrel, a Krieger match. However, this last weekend I ordered a new 700 SPS Varmint Stainless in .22-250. My hunting lately has been in...
