I have ranged sheep in the next pasture form my FIL's house from 400-750 with my Leica 1000. I ranged hogs in the 800's with the same.

I believe that Bryan Litz said measuring the bearing surface made the most difference. Basically measuring the bullet with a comparator on either end.

913 rounds as of 1/11/15 12lbs 4-3/4oz with the vortex scope. Scope is gone though. In good shape. Factory loads were ~2550fps I loaded them up to that but the rifle shot with 8208 at 2420fps best. .3xx" groups as shown.
