    7mm WSM ?

The M70 magazine should handle them fine. Also try MagPro around 66.0 grains. It gives the best velocity and accuracy in my 7wsm of all of the powders I tried. Of course work up to that level to make sure it is safe in your rifle.

    300gn Scenar at 2700 yards

It is such a simple question. I'll just leave it where it lays with your refusal to answer it. Have a good day.

    300gn Scenar at 2700 yards

PW, I did re-read the whole thread and see lots of double speak, especially by FD and you. It's simple question, please feel free to make your position clearly known by answering directly with a yes or no. Do you believe the Brits made the shots they claimed?

    300gn Scenar at 2700 yards

Tumbling bullets are lethal. The original issue is not "consistentcy," but whether the British team could have made the hits at 2700. Do you believe the Brit and his spotter are liars, and Later and the folks with him are liars also?

    High Fence Hunting

Not me, for many reasons. Silvertip, maybe I'm missing something, but what is wrong with hunting near a water or food source as long as it is a free range? Water and food sources concentrate game, and a hunter improves their odds by going where the game is. Is there a difference between a...

    High Fence Hunting

Kirby, They are in no way some of the "more famous" white-tail ranches, not even close. To throw out some of the more widely known "famous" white-tail ranches, try the Briscoe Gates or Briscoe Catarina, and King Ranch for some of the largers ones, but there are 100's of smaller ones (2,000...

    high altitude headache cure

Long ago I used to climb mountains - real climbing, not just backpacking and hiking. Coming from near sea level in Texas, I was taught that once above about 8,000 feet to spend one day per 1,000 feet of elevation gain for acclimation. You can go somewhat higher during the day for a few hours...

    powder temperature sensitivity

Temp Adjustment RL22 In 7WSM with 175/6's and working on 1000 yard loads, I tested a substantial number of loads with RL22 over a range of temperatures. It definitely is effected by temperature, but it is very predictable. I work up all of my loads in the heat of summer, so if they are safe...

    Birds protected

Negative on the parrots - some are native, such as Red-crowned parrots in South Texas, or re-introduced such as Thick-billed parrots in Arizona, and very highly threatened. If you are not 100% it is legal to shoot, leave it alone. Making a mistake is not a defense and violation of game...

Check this link and the embedded links: Guide to Migratory Bird Laws and Treaties A Guide to the Laws and Treaties of the United States for Protecting Migratory Birds A fairly large number of international treaties and domestic laws have been enacted that provide protection for...

    Caveat - San Miguel Ranch

Yes, one of my friends introduced me to a rancher in South Texas who manages his land for conservation purposes including open range deer hunting. Spending time with him is one of the great experiences of my life. I've learned much from him about hunting, shooting, and just some good life...

    Caveat - San Miguel Ranch

Should add, I went to back to the tried and true method. Asked some friends who live in South Texas. They hooked me up with a rancher who was a friend of a friend who allows deer hunting for a fee mostly focusing on shooting culls to work on improving his deer herd. Turned out to be far less...

    Caveat - San Miguel Ranch

I pass this on to hopefully help others learn from my mistake and avoid wasting time and money. This year I decided for the first time ever to spend some serious amounts to go on a top end hunt and booked with this outfitter/ranch. They have a luxurious hotel like ranch headquarters and...
