Thanks for the response, was hoping to get the chrono out this weekend but the weather is not looking to promising. The Axis are running free around the Texas Hill Country, escaped from the high fence game ranches. They are indeed excellent table fare.

Recently completed a 25-284 build that has been hiding in the closet for way to many years. Built on a Mauser action with a 24" Douglas Barrel, not sure of twist. Have put 36 rounds down the tube so far, first 32 just shooting paper, then came fun in the field, with one hog, 2 white tail bucks...

Extremely nice, very well spaced out. The only thing that worries me a little is the Hammer hanging on the pegboard. LOL

The rifle will be used primarily for hunting out to maybe 500 yds. Thank you for the input.

Finally completed a build of a 25 x 284 that I started many years ago. The action is a Model 1909 Mauser with a 24" Douglas Premium 3 Twist barrel, started this build so long ago I am not sure what some of that means. Am looking for advise on powder charge of H4350 or H4831 behind Hornady 117...
