I literally have dozens of rifles for whitetail deer hunting, but my go to rifle is a custom Remington 700 in .280AI. It was built by Bill Wiseman in 1988.
.270 Win. I don’t know why, but have never hunted with one. I have 4 .280 REM’s, 2 .284 Win’s, 2 7x57’s and a 7-08. I guess that is why I have never worked with the .270 Win, haven’t needed too.
For me, I would not want the 100 yard group to exceed 0.50 MOA. I would also shoot groups at my intended maximum range to insure that the rifle/load could maintain the same accuracy at the maximum range.
