Yes, varget does work very well with it. Staball 6.5 is pretty slow, but it's a ball powder so you can get a lot of it in the case, to the tune of about 49gr in lapua brass to the neck shoulder junction. You'll get more velocity from it than varget. R16 will give you more velocity too if you...

I'm not sure if you'll get the 124's up to 3k in a 24" with varget. It's a touch on the fast side. Staball 6.5 and R16 will definitely get you there, R16 being a little on the slow side. CFE 223 will too, but it's not temp stable at all.

You are quite possibly dealing with case fill issues from the powder you have selected. Low case fills will sometimes give you higher es. I would go with a powder that gives you more case fill. H4350 for 150gr and less, H4831 for 150-180gr, and H1000 for 180gr and up. There's many more...

Rhian Mantha is bigngreen. Go with Rhian's reamer and you'll be happy. You may need to single feed, but it's unlikely you'll need more than one 215.

Get the Lee factory crimp die if you're planning on crimping. A lot of the bullets you use in the Grendel won't have a cannelure and the Lee fcd will make it's own.
