I thought you could go unguided as long as you went with a resident! Don’t count me out though. Might still be interested if there are caribou in the area.
I just harvested this Sheep in Colorado on 10/04 of this year. In very good shape 5'9', 158 pounds.
Found, harvested and packed this sheep out myself. Hunted for Dall's in 2009 unsuccessfully but I have
2 sheep hunts behind me. I know what it takes, have the equipment, means and attitude to...
Well I was successful! My trip was full of challenges: opening day blizzard, terrible roads, flat tires, breakdowns but 2 days before the end of season I harvested a heavy 9 1/2 year old ram. Pics to follow
It’s been said that nothing is good as actually backpacking. I agree!
I stuff my Mystery Ranch with 2 20 pound bags of rice. It rides like actual gear vs plates. I do a hike once a week and supplement with a few runs and weightlifting. Try and shed some weight before the trip!
I have a professional hunter light made by HS precision. Mine is in 300 WSM but they also make a 270WSM which I think would be ideal. It weighs 5.5 pounds and can bang steel at 1000 yards with it. I finally drew a Colorado sheep tag this year so that is what I will be taking.
After 24 years I drew a Colorado Ram tag in unit s12. I feel pretty dialed in with my 300 WSM. Have been working out and hiking with a heavy back every weekend. It’s so fun to buy all the gear to help build excitement. Headed to Colorado this weejkend to scout!
Anyone here hunted that unit?
