I like both, though Ballistic: Advanced Edition, I like more. Seems to have more bullet selections, and I find it generally easier to use. Only downfall is Ballistic AE isn't available on Android, or at least that I have found.

Well, I did throw together some loads with H4831sc and the 145gr Barnes LRX's. As usual with practically every Sako actioned rifle I have owned, it likes the hotter loads. 66.5 grs of H4831SC, didn't take the Chrongraph, but Quickoad is saying 3136 fps. Shooting 1/2 MOA groups at 100 yards...

45.5 grains of H4350, Lapua Brass, CCI 250 primers. right at 2900 FPS Sako 85, 22" barrel Start lower, work up. Sako's like hot loads, so don't start where I'm at.

Use them in my 260. They are my go to deer bullet. Work great, shoot great

Just for curiosity sakes, next time you are at the range try putting the chrono out 20-30 feet from the muzzle. It was previously mentioned, the STW and I'm sure other heavy cartridges is bad for fooling Chronographs due to muzzle blast. 4100 is extremely fast, it would be interesting to see...

I load mine the same way you are talking about. 0.1 of a grain over, i dump a pinch out and re-trickle up to proper weight. Saying that, when loading for my STW, I don't worry about it nearly as much due to the size of the charge. (80+ grains of powder) A .1 variance here is minimal, but...

Your 9" twist barrel probably won't stabilize them. What will happen is you will see the bullet holes in the paper targets won't be nice small round holes. They will start leaving "Key hole" slots. That's if you can get them to hit the target at all. Sometimes an unstabilized bullet will fly...

Bullets require a certain spin rate to stabilize them in flight. A general rule of thumb is, the heavier (usually longer) the bullet the faster it will need to be spun to stabilize it. The Sierra 180gr you speak of, the manufacturer is recommending 1-8" twist in the barrel as a minimum...
