I don't think you will notice much difference in meat damage but would advise lung shoots to save meat . I would advise a 28 to 30 in barrel to burn all the powder

I found the solution to this problem in .338 cal and it is to shoot them in the lungs as that dose not damage meat and the lungs are a big target compared to the hart and nothing in the way.:)

ya 3 or 4 will be fine and then 1 or 2 not good i have ben loading 338 win sence 1993 i think with about 4000 rounds down range and these are the onaly cases to blow gass around primers and not swell case heads.

i have had to get hornady cases to replace my winchester cases .problem is hornady cases are leaking gases around primer and no expansion in case head .a full 200 ft shy of vel with win cases and win cases show no sings of preshur at all. does eney one know whear i can find win cases thanks

BC I was wandering which bc is the most best for the berger bullets i personaly havent tried the G7. Ihave ben using G1for every thing and it has ben realy close if i add in actul drop figurs at verious distance and have tested out over 1100 yards and ben right on. thanks

Ihave ben using winchester brass in my .338 win with max loads for years with no problems . granted i dont think ther brass is as good as it ws in the 90s but i get 6 + loadings

berger also makes a 250gr and i have used the 250 gr smk with good results .what does everyone think of the short neck on 338 edge and does it cause problems?
