    Barnes LRX Jump

I have noticed that the tips are off center a bit in most of the tipped barnes bullets that I have used. I have not tried to measure how much, but it is visible and I would guess that 0.006"-0.008" is close. It doesn't appear to affect the accuracy though.

Handguns: Black Bear Defense - Which is more Effective?

I would use the 1911 in either a heavy loaded .45, or 10mm. My 1911s are as reliable as any revolver.

    Freedom isn't free

I have had several family members who served in the military, but the 3 that come 1st for me to remember on Memorial day are: My dad Orville Tougaw, who spent 3 years in Italy and Germany during WWII, missing the birth of his oldest child. My uncle R.L. Moore who was killed on Okinawa during...

Vortex Fury, The Good The Bad And The Ugly

I got the Fury HD 5000 about a couple of years ago. I really like them. Got them so that I didn't have to have a separate range finder. They work very well. I looked through another hunter's Swarovski range finding binoculars last fall in New Mexico. I could not see a drastic improvement with...

    Adding Weight/Miles - Backpack Training

Another option for a flat lander is to find a reservoir with an earth dam and climb up and down the back side of the dam while wearing a pack.

Picatinny Rail with or without built in moa?

I once put a 20 moa base on a 308; it resulted in the point of impact at 100 yards being over 4" high with the scope adjustment turned all the way down. I can't remember the scope that I had on the rifle at the time, but I went to a 0 moa base for this particular one.

    Ridiculous questions.

Good to have you here! I have the same opinion of short barreled powder eaters; they are not an efficient use of powder. But each of us has their own goal and way to reach it.

    brass trimming

I do not trim any pistol brass only rifle. I started with the Lyman Universal, I was not happy with it. Started using a LE Wilson about 25 years ago and have been using it ever since.

Do you use sealer or moisture sealer on your reloads?

I have never sealed either primers or bullets. I have hunted in all kinds of storms, and never had an issue.
