The original post said "The rifle Manufacturer stated bipods should not be used." It said Stated, it didn't say anything about after the fact or in retrospect. Plus he altered the stock. His own fault.
you should get that with 130 gr. I don't know about Retumbo, but H1000 doesn't work well in my or my buddies rifles, but H4831sc works great with the 130 gr.
I guess a lot of yards in 7 kills means someone can shoot, of course we never count the misses. Less yards would make them a better hunter or huntress imho.
Speer makes a 168gr Gold Dot Rifle bullet that has a soft tip with very little lead exposed. .571 BC, very accurate and expands quickly. Also inexpensive, .32 a bullet.
if you compare apples to apples the Tract scopes are right with leupold. The Leupold vx-5 is very close to the Toric 3-15x42. The leupold HD-5 is very close to the Toric 4-20x50.
I shoot 130 Grain Gamechangers .010 off the lands in my rifle. I would do some test loads at .010, .020, .030 and see. It makes a big difference in my rifle.
I have a 24" barrel in my Mesa 6.5 PRC. I get right at 3200 fps with the 130 gr. Gamechanger. Had a .375 3 shot group. 55.5 grains of 7828ssc. .010 off the lands. Shot a Satterlee load test and picked a node. Haven't even refined the load yet, it just shot that well with the first group.
I have a 24" Barrel and with the 143 ELDX I got a five shot average of 3054 with 59.0 grains of H1000 in a new gun. Sometimes they speed up, mine did not.
