I shoot both, and dearly love them! If you're humping the mountains, or riding horseback, or motorized vehicle, it depends on which one you're most comfortable with carrying and shooting!

Most towns in mountain areas sell O2. If your from lower elevations, it will come in handy!

300 WM is a good choice. If you don't reload, there are many factory ammo choices. The main thing, is to practice a lot, prior to your trip.

I single feed at the range. However, in the field, I use a full magazine. I have been surprised in the field before, better to be prepared.

I'd say on the big game I shoot, my 338 Win Mag is my favorite. On Deer and antelope, my favorite is my 6.5-284.

Just saying, you may look at E.R. Shaw. Mark X, or VII, pick your barrel, break, or no break, pick a trigger, and extra mags., on Mark X only, and pick your stock. All for around the price of an assembly line rifle.
