    .17 remington for yotes?

I've shot a few now with my 204 and the aforementioned 32gr Hornady load. I will say it doesn't seem to kill them quite as quick as the 223. They seem to get another 10-30 ft. But the question was about shooting them with the 17. And with my experience with the 17hmr on pd's and 3/4 of them...

    .17 remington for yotes?

I've had a few that are drt, but only about 30%. At 75-125 yards my .22 shooting 36 gr has a lot less crawl offs. Weird. I picked up some Hornady 17 ammo and once the gun gets back from Savage I'm going to see if it does any better.

SOLD/EXPIRED Once fired Hornady 204 brass

Well golly, do I need to do the puppy thing? Free to good home??? Nah, but I'd do $250 + shipping for all of them.

    .17 remington for yotes?

Recently bought a Savage A17 auto loader with the thumbhole stock in 17hmr using the suggested A17 cai 17gr ammo. I bought it in an attempt to lessen my costs of pd control. I've run over 1500 rounds through my 204 bolt and AR 204 since July 1 and needed to cheapen up my shooting. I know it's...

900 yards on the run!!! With a .204!

Funny thing, with pd's season being back in full swing beginning the first of July, I and my son (who I also found a browning Abolt in 204 for) as well as a grandkid and 2 SIL's went out opening morning and sent about 150 to their eternal reward. Later that day I added another 35 to the tally...

900 yards on the run!!! With a .204!

Oh don't I know. A year or so back I got called out by a guy on here that thought it was wrong if every critter I shot (and everyone else) didn't die right there on the spot. I shoot prariee dogs and coyotes on a ranch that the rancher doesn't see it as sport or shooting practice, he sees...

900 yards on the run!!! With a .204!

Great story Allen! I see lots of similarities in my experiences. A buddy got me into dog calling in 88 and we've been enjoying it ever since. Guys think I'm nuts as well when on an elk or deer hunt and I'll take the chance of missing a trophy so I can shoot a coyote. I also started with...

900 yards on the run!!! With a .204!

For sure that poor dog was as unlucky as I was lucky. I sure don't make a practice of 900 yard shots with the .204, I'd probably agree 500 yards is pushing it, but after watching him for 10-15 minutes and him thumbing his nose at me and the call, I decided...ok, I'll just see what happens...

900 yards on the run!!! With a .204!

That could be entirely possible with the one in the side, but the one dropping from heaven in the shoulders...I'm thinking he caught that td pass on the fly...ruled a completion!!!

Hunt Report - 2016 LRH Group Coues Deer

Sweeeet success!! Living and hunting here in AZ I have yet to connect with one of these "gray ghosts" that scores in the 100's. I'm a little bit jealous looking at those dandy bucks! All the country I hunt in AZ for the Coues is not an easy hunt. Having been on a couple of trips to Mexico...

900 yards on the run!!! With a .204!

I know, I know...I couldn't hardly believe it myself. I'm a big fan of browning Abolts and a year ago picked up my 4th one, this one in .204. Using the hornady 32gr ammo at 4225 it was just deadly all year on pd's. I swear it seemed even when I had the crosshairs off in a old man unsteady...

Having a good start to yote season...

Caught a day a few weeks ago right after a few days of a cold slushy storm when it cleared out with temps in the high 20's. Five mins into hand calling one comes on a run out of the cedars at 400 yards and really never slowed. Lots of time to get the scope on him and follow him in. Kept...

    Time for new coyote/target rifle

Living in NE AZ and having a place 10 min away I can shoot 700yrds. I set up a 4x8 pc of plywood to work with and started at 300yrds working out to 720yrds. Using my AR in 223 and then my Abolts in 204, 22.250 and 270wsm I was amazed at the diff in wind drift with just a 5-7 mph cross wind...

Experience Moving In After a Response

That was some GREAT info. I've had the same issue and always thought that why not do the same as Elk calling and head that way (if sufficient cover). Glad it worked. I'm going to give it a shot next time. Thx!
