    10/22 speed loader

?? I have both, they do different things. One helps load the magazine, the other helps disassemble & reassemble the magazine. RPRimfire tolerates a lower magazine follower spring tension than the 10/22 because it is a turnbolt rather than a semi, doesn’t need the speed. Dialing the spring...

    New Garmin vs Magneto

MK Machining makes an ARCA/picatinny mount for the Magnetospeed. There are several others but MK’s offering appears to be the most cost effective.

    NRL 22 setup ??

Is it important to stay in Base Class? I wouldn’t worry about it, put on an optic you like and enjoy the matches. Some folks dial during a stage, from what I see though most folks dial before a stage and then use holdovers, adjusting parallax as needed. Eg, stage targets at 100y and 130y...

    Semi or O/U

Fun project, good on you! O/Us are elegant, and I like the additional safety aspect. I agree with others that gas semis are softest recoiling. If you want an O/U, here is a different perspective you might consider - Get a 12 gauge and feed it reduced loads. 20s can have recoil that feels...

    10/22 speed loader

Maglula makes one for the Ruger factory 10/22 mags (rotary followers) that works really well. Nicely designed. Tandemkross makes a 10/22 magazine assembly tool that makes reassembling the magazine much easier - enables one to easily dial the amount of desired spring tension and then pop the nut...

    22 for daughters

Perhaps consider (alternatively or additionally) a high quality break-barrel spring air rifle with moderate velocity, like a Weihrauch HW30 or HW50. (Vendor like Pyramid Air, …) Single shot, very accurate, excellent triggers, quiet, and .177 match grade ammunition can be substantially less...

    Going down a 22 rabbit hole…

Excellent. You know what you want, there are good options to choose from, and you’ve received perspectives that you can weight as you deem fit. Sounds like you are enjoying the selection process.

    Going down a 22 rabbit hole…

The 457 MTR has a Turkish walnut stock that is beautiful and distinctive. It is also not adjustable. If an out-of-the box 457 MTR fits the shooter nicely, then great! If it doesn’t quite fit, well then at some point there may be sufficient incentive to explore solutions. Adjustable comb...

    Going down a 22 rabbit hole…

Two folks in my local NRL22 group started with RPRRs, used them to win, and then moved up to Vudoo/RimX but still have their Rugers, loan them out etc. One has a Shaw barrel, the other is stock and shoots CCI SV beautifully. Another local expert started with a 457 MTR, stepped up to Vudoo...

    22LR Trainer scope options. Suggestions.

For fundamentals of marksmanship an air rifle (eg springer, Weihrauch) is superb, also inexpensive to feed and easy to care for, quiet, likely easier to use frequently. (Back yard, garage, basement). If you really want to teach/learn dialing that suggests to me FFP, decent (not cheap) glass...

Cotton Ball With Ashes Fire Starter - No Match Needed

Ditto on the comments re cotton balls & Vaseline- discovered that right near the end of my tenure as Scoutmaster. A cotton ball dipped so half has Vaseline and half doesn’t, ignites really well with flint and steel - flip sparks into the non-Vaselined half, which then fires the Vaseline.
